Announcing your pregnancy with a photo session

This pregnancy announcement photo session was a experience I’ll never forget.

I’ll be totally honest here, I have not shot a pregnancy announcement photo session in probably like 6 or 7 years until this amazing momma got in touch with me! Also shocking, I know haha! As a photographer who specializes in maternity you’d think this would be a common type of session I get commissioned for but nope haha!

Neisha had the most epic idea to announce her pregnancy! She wanted to announce her pregnancy though a film & portraits to tell all of her friends and family! I mean what more epic way to do it am I right? There’s so many creative ways to tell the world your expecting a baby thanks to the popularity of social media. I felt so special to be the one to be a part of this exciting time for Neisha & Dez!

This session was such a blast, I’m a firm believer that your robe attracts your tribe and I feel like with so many of my clients I’m hanging out with my besties! Shooting is probably my favorite part of your portrait sessions for that reason right there! Hello new mommy pals!

Shooting film & photo together at the same time does come with it’s challenges especially when the sun is going down and honestly I’m a bit rusty with managing both as I don’t do a ton of video work these dats but I say we both KILLED it haha!!!! We had the most epic sunset and the waves added ALL the drama to these images & the film!

Also kudos to this stunning momma to be for keeping her pregnancy a secret for about 15 weeks, I’m weak y’all…. I would have slipped up and spilled the beans if it was me haha!
